Kantara 2: A Legend Chapter-1 is generating unprecedented pre-release excitement in Karnataka, with advance ticket sales already crossing Rs 6.63 crore. The film is slated for 1,215 shows across the state, and more than 520 of these have been sold out, underscoring strong audience anticipation.
According to Sacnilk data, the movie has earned an estimated Rs 9 crore from pre-sales in all languages nationwide. To date, over 1.54 lakh tickets have been booked across India.
Karnataka continues to dominate the pre-release buzz for Kantara 2. Bengaluru alone accounts for approximately Rs 4.88 crore from 725 shows. Of these, 324 screenings are fully booked, with remaining shows filling rapidly.
Mysuru has reported Rs 51.95 lakh from 76 shows, while coastal city Mangaluru has collected Rs 31.5 lakh from 56 shows. Overall, Karnataka is witnessing an occupancy rate of 33%, a strong indicator of the film’s local popularity.
Beyond Karnataka, ticket sales are emerging steadily. States like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh show occupancy rates of 11% and 13% respectively, signaling potential growth. Conversely, metro markets are slower; Delhi shows Rs 5.57 lakh from 1% occupancy, and Maharashtra reports Rs 29.25 lakh with 4% occupancy.
Kerala’s pre-sales indicate Rs 9.29 lakh from more than 1,000 shows, although occupancy is low at 3%. Other southern states, including Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, have seen modest figures despite releases in Telugu and Tamil versions.
Industry analysts point out that Karnataka contributes over 70% of the advance booking revenue, highlighting the franchise’s strong regional base. Experts anticipate that Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam markets will see an increase in ticket sales following reviews and audience reactions.
